Why would you carpet a ditch?
At ABLE there are a couple of reasons...
We need water on the top field and we think the large ditch at the side of the nature trail could be used as a storage facility. Due to the stony ground and to keep down the weeds we have lined it with carpet tiles to prevent rocks from piercing the pond liner when it’s put in place.
This is another example of ABLE finding a reuse for something for which nobody else could see a future. These carpet tiles were factory rejects and were bound for landfill until ABLE gave them a new lease of life.
The carpet tiles are inert so they are harmless to the environment, ensuring our eco friendly approach to construction is maintained and our biodiversity goals aren’t compromised either! For more information on these goals click through to our environment page.
